I have dedicated my entire life to the arts, and it has taken much of that time to truly understand the essence of being an artist. As a child, my talent for drawing was evident, but I viewed it as distinct from my innate curiosity to disassemble and construct objects from whatever materials were available. My grandfather had a small woodshop in his basement, where I would often sneak in to explore or assist him in tidying up the sawdust beneath the workbenches. Whenever someone around me was engaged in a project, I was eager to participate, particularly if it involved hazardous tools or the thrill of climbing a rooftop. The blue-collar spirit is deeply ingrained in me, and I found such work both engaging and fulfilling.

It wasn’t until I discovered the realm of fine woodworking and furniture making that I began to see how craftsmanship could elevate to the level of art. I believe that almost anything can become art when pursued with exceptional dedication and skill. Art, in my view, is the result of an unyielding obsession with the possibilities of creation. For me, the driving force behind my work is the pursuit of what is possible. What are my capabilities? How can we achieve the highest quality?

I am a staunch advocate of the principle that the way we approach any task reflects how we approach all aspects of life. If we cannot commit to doing something to the best of our abilities, then we should not engage in it at all. These core beliefs inspired the creation of S | A. My goal was to establish a business grounded in profound creative integrity and unparalleled craftsmanship. I sought to adopt a philosophy of leaving no stone unturned in our work. This endeavor has been the most significant challenge of my life, yet it also feels like my true calling.
